This was the day the dream of an unbeaten season died. It showed that we were, perhaps, lucky to win on Saturday. But also it could be read as a sign of just how well we did on Saturday when we beat them. The strange thing is that we dominated this match in a way that we did not on Saturday - we just could not make it count. As the match went on, we became more ragged and just needed to calm down. We had some excellent chances - off the bar, off the line, clawed away - it just would not go in. Our visitors took their chances, hitting us on the break after an own-goal had put them in the lead. If their is something we can learn from our visitors, it is that encouragement and communication really do help in team sports. We never quite got going - even after Sotaro had brought us level with a beautiful strike with the outside of his right foot.
Man of the Match was Oz Power - he played well today, but it was also in recognition of his efforts this half of term.
