U16B v Marlborough College, Saturday 18 January 2025 (Away), Lost 1-4

A second loss, this time against the Marlborough Junior Colts A, but we played so much better and were justifiably disappointed not to have won. Our defence proved solid again, with Alex S in the centre (my MoM), and determined and physical play from George F-C and Oscar T on the left. Four goals against highlighted not our defensive strengths, but our weaknesses in attack. Outstanding skills on the ball from Jacobi B and Jasper R again evidenced our ability in midfield, but too often our passing and particularly our shots in front of goal proved costly. Had we not squandered too many chances to drive the ball into the back of the net, the game would certainly have swung in our favour earlier on. And it will be quick passes and shooting that we will be practising this next week.
