A satisfying result against a team made up of Sidcot's Sixth Form boarding pupils.
Sherborne were able to take control of the opening passages of play, and from a well-weighted corner Aloysius C once again connected firmly with a header to give us the lead. But Sidcot were not to be outdone and, seeing our keeper slightly off his line, equalised with a finally judged shot from close to 30 yards.
We needed a good start to the second half, and got it - some neat close interplay seeing Al P slot the ball home to restore our lead within two minutes. Soon afterwards, a scramble in Sidcot's six yard box led to Aloysius C reacting more quickly than their defence to stab the ball in and make it 3-1. The rest of the match was fairly uneventful, other than Reuben H proving that anything Sidcot could do he could do better when his crisp half volley from 25 yards out nestled in the top corner. An early contender for goal of the season.
This was a good away result with Sherborne beginning to show some pleasing cohesion and control. Bring on the next game!
