Sherborne JCB put in a spirited performance against King’s College, Taunton, adapting to a new formation with confidence and energy. They started the game brightly, moving the ball well and creating early chances, but an unfortunate scrappy goal conceded from a corner put them on the back foot. Undeterred, Sherborne responded with sharp movement and intelligent play, with Freddie C coming closest to equalising when his strike rattled the crossbar.
After the break, King’s came out strongly and extended their lead with two quick goals, forcing Sherborne to raise their intensity. Spurred on by the setback, they created several clear-cut opportunities, but despite their attacking intent, the final touch eluded them. Their persistence eventually paid off when Theo G produced a moment of brilliance, unleashing a stunning 35-yard strike into the top corner to bring them back into the game. This goal ignited a wave of further attacking efforts, but Sherborne were unable to convert any into an equaliser. Despite the result, it was an impressive display of resilience and determination, with Tom C deserving particular praise for his tireless work at left wingback, covering ground tirelessly and contributing both defensively and in attack.
