Sherborne School Junior Colts B (U15B) vs Clifton College
On: Saturday, 22 Mar 2025
Venue: Away
Sherborne JCB put in a strong performance against Clifton College, despite a sluggish start that saw them struggle to find rhythm in their passing. Clifton looked the sharper side early on, creating a handful of opportunities, though none posed a serious threat. As the half progressed, Sherborne settled into their trademark free-flowing style, moving the ball with speed and precision through the thirds as they had worked on all season. Their attacking play was a joy to watch, with seamless transitions up the pitch, yet, against the run of play, Clifton capitalised on a rare opening to take the lead with a well-taken goal.
After the break, Sherborne raised their intensity, dictating the tempo and creating a series of promising chances. Their movement and link-up play were excellent, but they were unable to find the finishing touch. Clifton once again struck against the run of play, doubling their advantage despite Sherborne’s dominance. However, their persistence paid off when Charlie K found the net, giving them a deserved goal and renewed momentum. They pressed hard for an equaliser, but it remained elusive. Despite the result, this was the team’s finest performance of the season, with George J and Will ST deserving special recognition for their tireless work throughout.
