Sherborne School Junior Colts B (U15B) vs  St Edward's School, Oxford
On: Saturday, 08 Mar 2025
Venue: Away

Sherborne JCB faced a challenging encounter against St Edward''s, Oxford, beginning the match somewhat sluggishly and struggling to find fluency in their passing. This allowed Teddies to gain the upper hand in the early stages, applying consistent pressure and creating several half-chances, though none were clear-cut. Despite the slow start, Sherborne’s defence held firm, preventing the hosts from capitalising on their early dominance. After the break, Sherborne found renewed energy and began moving the ball with greater purpose and accuracy. Their improved play was rewarded when a swift attacking move down the left flank saw George J deliver a pinpoint cross into the box, which Freddie C clinically converted to give Sherborne the lead. Buoyed by the goal, Sherborne pushed forward and crafted further opportunities but were soon placed under heavy pressure by the home side. Resolute and courageous defending from Cyrus J, George E, Alfie A, George H, and Luca V proved vital in maintaining the lead, as they absorbed wave after wave of attacks. Although the match remained tightly contested, Sherborne’s determination and defensive grit ensured they held firm, coming away with a hard-fought and well-earned result.
