This was a cracking contest between two teams committed to playing on the front foot. The opposition dominated the early possession and territory as we struggled to make anything stick. We conceded a poor goal from a corner with the unmarked player heading in from close range. Gradually we worked our way back into the game and the twinkle toes of Bobby S and Willoughby P created two great chances for Willoughby which on another day would have found the back of the net. The frantic pace of the game continued which meant that occasionally we rushed and forced things which led to a loss of possession. Milo D and Max T were aggressive in their defending and they had to be against a combative front line from Teddies. Joe Z in goal was solid although he could only helplessly watch on as a cracking effort from Teddies hit the bar from 30 yards but meant their lead only remained the one goal. We started to get on top and their was palpable shift in momentum as we continuously knocked on the door for an equaliser with Willoughby P, Bobby S and Mortimer M all going close. Our pressure paid off when Willoughby P slipped David J through and he lifted it over the goalkeeper to level the scores. We almost scored the winner in the dying embers of the game when Fergus OC's invited cross was met by David J but his header crashed off the bar. Harry L was adjudged man of the match for his action packed display. This was a proper game of football.
