A blistering start saw the Colts A nearly score after 10 seconds after a lightning attack. Unfortunately, we did not push on and hit the heights of Saturday and put in a disjointed performance albeit in blustery conditions on a heavy pitch. We offered glimpses of what we can do and deservedly took the lead through Timmy Y. After spurning several chances, sloppy play saw us punished as Bryanston equalised. At half time the boys spoke about playing with greater intensity and getting back to our quick passing game and were rewarded with two quick fire goals through talisman Willoughby P. The first of his goals was particularly well taken. Rumours that a number of parents missed these goals due to enjoying the halftime hospitality 'tent' should be treated as speculation. Roy Keane would not have approved. Despite this buffer we struggled to click into high gear yet there was plenty of endeavour and moments of quality. Fergus OC put in another shift worthy of a captain and did well not to react to some heavy challenges. Bobby S and Harry B showed flashes of real quality and it is exciting how much potential there is in the squad. David J scored a powerful effort and whilst another sloppy goal gave Bryanston hope, Harry B secured victory with a poacher's goal. It is a testament to the high standards of the squad that they were disappointed with their overall performance but as they were reminded, winning when not at your best, is a great quality to have!
