The Mini Colts B's delivered an outstanding all round team performance in their 4-1 victory against Monmouth on Saturday. From the first minute, Sherborne were in control of the game, being on the front foot and dominating the ball. Chances were being created through some high quality 1-2s between the midfielders, fullbacks and wingers, with numerous crosses and corners being delivered. The pressure finally paid off, as Theo M pounced on an excellent chance and delivered the first goal of the season with an excellent finish. Monmouth grew into the game as they started to create some good chances to equalise, but the defense resisted the pressure and Roy L delivered several crucial saves to keep the score at 1-0. Isaac B then picked up the ball in the middle of the pitch and then went on an excellent run, combining with the attack to create a simple chance for Isaac to finish, leaving Sherborne 2-0 up at half time. In the second half Sherborne continued to show the team's attacking prowess, with constant pressure being applied, resulting in the goals continuing to flow. Theo M earnt his second goal, through blocking a clearance, hitting his back and subsequently chipping the keeper for 3-0. Monmouth pulled a goal back but that didn't stop Theo from completing his hattrick with a clinical finish in the bottom left corner. The team's control and cohesion was evident throughout, with every player contributing to an excellent display. A superb all-round effort from Sherborne MCB, left spectators and coaches alike thoroughly impressed.
