A gut wrenching loss in a match we had hoped to win. The game itself was close and hard fought, and you could not say that Marlborough did not deserve their victory, even with the Gents hammering on the door for a match-winning try right up to the final whistle. Shorn of three starter players in our back-line, including our captain, who were off attending a university Open Day, we lacked a cutting edge in midfield.
