Just a few days later, we were expecting a return fixture with the same Dauntsey's team on home turf, with reasonable hopes of reversing our fortunes. Sadly, Dauntsey's turned up with their undefeated gun 3rd XV side, expecting to play our 3rd XV. Though the Gents battled bravely this was a match up akin to bringing a knife to a gunfight. Dauntsey's were too strong and in control throughout, but Xan A did manage to score a consolation breakaway try just before the end. Lesson learned. If Dauntsey's want to play our 3rd XV - let them!
