In the welcome Wiltshire sunshine, on the Terraces at Marlborough and in front of a vast crowd of parents and friends, the Mini Colts D enjoyed a feast of rugby in their first school fixture, emerging with a creditable 19-19 draw. Captain Stirling O led the side superbly from number 8 and added two conversions to the three Sherborne tries, which all came from surging runs, by Ernie B, Harry W and Senya O. Having taken the lead, the side was level at half-time and found itself 19-7 down before mounting a recovery, led at that stage by the prolific tackling of Alfie B at scrum-half. Art LP was a force to be reckoned with in the pack, Charlie E made several marauding runs and Harry W sliced open the defence more than once, in what was a most encouraging afternoon of rugby.
