Charging through the sprawling Millfield defence, leaving would-be tacklers floundering in his wake, Gonzalo O twice covered enormous distances to run in a brace of tries in the autumn sunshine on Junior Field in the heart of Somerset, watched by an impressive array of parents and friends. At the other end of the spectrum, Hector S, as tough as a lion in the tackle, three times stopped men twice his size heading for the line, bringing down his opponent in textbook style to prevent certain tries. Beyond that, the score-line adequately summaries the difference between the two sides, Millfield running the ball smoothly, making their tackles and playing for each other. Freddie W shows some promise as a full-back who is prepared to run at his man, Daniel G began to replicate the mazy runs he makes in training, William V continued to show his potential at scrum-half and Noah C offers a great deal in the front row, scrapping for every loose ball. The two second rows, Hugo S and Ed E, both made marauding runs, and captain Charlie S directed the play from fly-half. We will work on all of this so much more in training sessions.
