Match Report
Sherborne School 1st XI vs  Bryanston School
On: Tuesday, 28 Jan 2020
Venue: at Home

This was another stepping stone on the road to a top class performance, as the 1st XI put in a defensive shift to triumph in their U18 Plate game against Bryanston. Despite moving the ball well at the beginning of the game, Sherborne once again were the architects of their own downfall with a cheap turnover leading directly to the opposition’s opening goal. It took three moments of pure quality from Olly W to change the game in Sherborne’s favour; the first a superb running backhand finish from a narrow angle to even the scores, then a ridiculous one handed backhand pass to create the second goal, before playing a defence splitting pass to enable the third. Despite another cheap turnover in our own circle gifting Bryanston a second, Sherborne continued to lift their game and scored twice more to put the game to bed.

The 1st XI play Downside in the next round of the Cup at a date to be confirmed.

Man of the Match: Olly Westmacott
