Match Report
Sherborne School 1st XI vs  Exeter School
On: Wednesday, 15 Jan 2020
Venue: at Home

The 1st XI made a spirited start to their season, scoring a well-worked team goal to take a 1-0 lead into half-time. Unfortunately, the slick passing and well-organised defence that typified the first 30 minutes was not matched by the period after the break, as turnover after turnover haunted the team. It was another poor pass in the centre channel that led to the Exeter equaliser on a quick counter attack, and Exeter quickly added a second through yet another cheap giveaway at the edge of the Sherborne circle. Despite a spirited fight back in the final 15 minutes, Sherborne couldn’t find the killer touch to take the game to penalty strokes, and instead play Bryanston in the Plate.

A positive start for a young group who worked extremely hard throughout, they have a number of important lessons to leave over the coming weeks.
