Sherborne School Boys-U15B vs  Clayesmore School Boys-U15A
On: Thursday, 17 Oct 2019
Venue: Away

Junior Colts B 26 Clayesmore A 20

This was a slightly scrappy but nonetheless welcome win against a dogged Clayesmore team who led for much of the match. We aimed to play at a high tempo and a quick penalty put Harry Summerhayes away, who managed to make the extra 5 metres to the try line this week. Clayesmore then struck back twice with tries where our midfield defence was not up quickly enough and that combined with a penalty put them ahead 15-7. Milo Tennant found some space on the blind side to get us back in the game and the second half was mainly us with the Denham twins creating chances out wide. There were also good runs from the back row of Cable, Richardson, Folkes and Kingsbury and finally after plenty of pressure Henry Kingsbury piled over to put us ahead. We then conceded a wholly unnecessary try and with Clayesmore 20-19 up and the whistle becoming more frequent, it looked as though the clock would run down. Thankfully a surging move from the forwards resulted in Barney Crawford ending up over the try line under a pile of bodies to give us the final score and victory. It is always good to win when you are not playing at your best, but there is plenty to work on for Saturday’s game against Taunton.

Tries: Summerhayes, Tennant, Kingsbury, Crawford
