Match Report
Sherborne School 4th XI vs  Queen Elizabeth's Hospital (QEH) Boys-U18E
On: Saturday, 11 Jan 2020
Venue: at Home

An even contest in the winter's sun on Carey's went the way of the visitors, who left Dorset with a victory. Two very evenly-matched sides played an exciting and eminently watch-able brand of football in excellent spirits and without a hint of any malicious tackle. Captain Michael Heyman went close from two first-half corners and Ralph Loveys Jervoise spurned the best chance before the interval, but Sherborne trailed at the break through a "worldy" from the opposition striker and a disastrous corner which rebounded off a defender onto the post to allow their midfielder a tap-in. After the break, the home side had more of the ball and play was largely in the attacking half, but they fell to two sucker-punches as they pushed for an equalizer. Ed Jones was strong, determined and forceful, Alex Hobbs was a fine overlapping full-back and Max Pugsley came on as a half-time substitute to score within two minutes. Man of the Match Ollie Lampert, reveling in a central midfield role, covered every blade of grass in a tigerish, busy and polished performance.

Goal: Max Pugsley

Man of the Match: Ollie Lampert
