Sherborne School 3rd XI vs  Queen Elizabeth's Hospital (QEH)
On: Saturday, 11 Jan 2020
Venue: at Home

v QEH Bristol Sat 11 Jan (H): Won 3-1

A confident start to the season, all Sherborne players showing an encouraging level of skill this early in the season. With the wind behind us, Sherborne proved able to open up the QEH defence with ease and we spurned a number of skilful build-ups with the final touch. First half goals from Fergus Burtt and a thundering close range shot from Ben Wadham highlighted their defensive weakness, and there should have been more goals. A fantastic counter-attack from Marius Cotorobai in the second half again proved our dominance, although the wind unfortunately offered something of a challenge. Chris Neville’s pace on the left wing was impressive, as were the deft touches and flicks from Ben Wadham and Guy Romilly, which outwitted their opponents. The back four, however, were solid throughout, offering attacking options on the break and a near impenetrable wall in defence. QEH missed a penalty, but managed to bundle the ball into the back of the net for a consolation goal in the dying minutes.

Man of the match goes to Ludo Davies for his confident defending and attacking threat, but more importantly his reading of the game.
