Match Report
Sherborne School Boys-U15A vs  Bristol Grammar School
On: Saturday, 18 Jan 2020
Venue: Away

The JCA hockey team travelled away to Firebrands to face Bristol Grammar School. Sherborne went out strong and determined to get a win following their unfortunate cup game defeat a few days earlier. The boys put into practice what they had practised in training by making leading runs and posting up. An aerial from Carl F from the back left of the pitch landed to a perfectly positioned Charlie W in our attacking 23 and an excellent lead from Archie M into the D led to our first goal from some fantastically executed hockey. Early in the game and 1-0 up. BGS fought back and began marking players out of the game making it more difficult for us to get around them, but this didn’t stop us and shortly after Charlie W got a strike at goal from a carry up the pitch. Going into half time 2-0 up. The team talk gave us some ideas on how to get around them better, and clearly BGS came out trying to get some goals looking much stronger in the second half, but Sherborne held their own and finished the game with a 2-0 win.

Goals: Charlie Westmacott, Archie Mackenzie

Man of the match: Harry Thomas
