Match Report
Sherborne School 4th XI vs  Millfield School
On: Saturday, 18 Jan 2020
Venue: Away

It was a great day to be at Millfield: a paucity of fixtures left space to enjoy the size of the Kingweston fields, which had drained so efficiently after the midweek deluge. Bolstered by new-found enthusiasm, the 4th XI took to the field with energy, but were soon undone by some effective Millfield shooting. A goal down inside the first few minutes, the side clawed their way back into a seemingly lost encounter and equalised shortly before half-time. Moments after he had found his legs clipped from beneath him as he set himself to shoot, Josh Bowers arrived late in the six-yard box to neatly head home a right-wing Ralph Loveys-Jervoise corner from close range. This should have inspired the side but, after promising more, the momentum switched as Millfield ran in two quick goals and threatened to turn the game into a rout. With about three minutes remaining, good work from the impressive Yuriy Belykh sent Bowers through for his second goal and, just moments later, Fin Cooper skipped through a hesitant defence and provided an accomplished finish to equalise. With the job apparently done, Sherborne settled back and allowed the home side's impressive and quick striker to lob goalkeeper Tim Taylor to seal their victory.

Goals: Bowers (2), Cooper

Man of the Match: Belykh
