The Sherborne 1st V competed today in the Marlborough College Sporting Clay Shield Competition. The event was held at Barbary Shooting grounds and comprised 23 teams of 5 guns.
The weather was wet and blustery but this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the team and all five boys shot consistently well to be highly placed in all three events.
In the main "Sporting " team event Sherborne was placed 5th out of the 23 teams. Whilst Millfield, Rugby and Marlborough won the trophies, Sherborne beat, inter alia, Harrow, Radley, Winchester and Cheltenham.
In the "Flush" team event Sherborne was placed 4th out of the 23 teams. This competition was highly competitive and just two clays separated 1st and 4th places.
In the Individual event, Cameron Cooper was placed 4th out of 115 guns.
