Match Report
Sherborne School Boys-U15A vs  King's College, Taunton
On: Saturday, 11 Jan 2020
Venue: at Home

The Junior Colt A hockey team hosted King’s Taunton on Saturday. A few players down due to National Indoor Finals, we put out a strong 13 side squad. The boys went out strong, having only had one training session together, but unfortunately fell two goals behind fairly early after two incredible strikes from King’s. Sherborne then got a short corner, in which neither umpire could confirm if the ball had crossed the line before it was saved or not. Due to this, a penalty stroke was then given. Charlie Westmacott stepped up and slotted it past the keeper, bringing the score to 2-1. Another two goals from King’s and the half time score was 4-1. Many boys had ideas on how we could improve in the second half and we went out aiming to not just go down the middle and to get in front of our players more. The second half started with another goal from Charlie. Not long after, Nico Beeny scored two good goals. The score stood at a strong 4-4 draw for much of the game, but King’s scored from a short corner with just a few minutes to go, ending the game 5-4. An excellent first performance from the JCAs.

Goals: Charlie W (2), Nico B (2)
