Final score: 14-14

Tries: Jake Malloy x2

After a 2 and a half hour trip up to Cheltenham, our JCBs took the field for the last time together this season. Captain Kit Slim took the boys through their warmup and pregame team talk, and really impressed with his mature leadership. What followed was a closely contested game of rugby. With the score all tied at 7-7 at half time following a strong late finish from Jake Malloy, our boys went into the second half hungry for more.

We got close early on, with good carries and work at the break down from Henry Kingsbury, yet it only paid off later on in the half when Joe Young managed to move the ball quickly wide to the space on the wing, where Jake Malloy showed an unbelievable turn of pace to beat 3 defenders, break the line, and even the score after the soft break away try scored earlier in the half.

With the score even at 14-14 we were defending on our line, yet never looked like conceding thanks to a tackling masterclass, led by Freddie Folkes. Having driven them back past the 22 metre line, the final whistle went. A sound both teams would've been equally saddened yet relieved to have heard.
