Sherborne School Boys-U18C vs  Clifton College
On: Saturday, 09 Nov 2019
Venue: at Home

Won 35-21

The 3rd XV produced a ferocious, high tempo display to overcome a well drilled and physically imposing Clifton side this weekend. The high pace and the varied lines of attack were too much for the opposition who, playing to their strengths rucked very effectively to keep themselves in the game. Quick thinking and doing the unexpected paid off however, and from the first minute when McLaughlin raced over after a kick through to the last score by W. Brown when the opposition failed to gather a loose ball, running rugby overcame a more direct approach. The resolute and patient defence was noticeable this week, having been lacking for long periods in previous matches and the forwards provided a good supply of ball from a lineout that worked very well indeed. Hopefully this resurgence will carry forward into the remaining fixtures.

Tries: H. Lampier (2), W. Brown, L. McLaughlin, F. Burtt.

Conversions: H. Lampier (4), S. Usher.
