Match Report
Sherborne School Boys-U14A vs  Marlborough College
On: Saturday, 28 Sep 2019
Venue: Away

The Mini Colts travelled to their first Sherborne match on the road this week, as they took on Marlborough. From the start Marlborough looked organised and utilised their strong runners effectively. Moving out to a 12-0 in the first quarter, Sherborne were very much up against it. The middle section of the match however was very much in Sherborne’s favour. Some outstanding, hard running from Ollie Pearson and man of the match Jonty Heard, created opportunities for Sherborne. Heard was able to score an excellent individual try, whilst the second came from some impressive team pressure that resulted in Edward Elwell diving over to score. Both efforts were converted by Oli Goringe. Throughout the next ten minutes the match was very tight, with both teams exerting pressure on the other's line. Unfortunately, some handling errors allowed Marlborough some field position and they were able to get over to score twice more. The game finished 27-14 to the hosts. Some great improvements from the Mini Colt A team but some clear areas for improvement.

Tries: Jonty Heard, Edward Elwell

Cons: Oli Goringe 2

Man of the match: Jonty Heard
