Sherborne School Boys-U18D vs  Marlborough College

Quite literally a game of two halves, the ‘upgraded’ Gentlemen’s XV plaid both Marlborough’s 4th and 5th XV.
Following a truest taxing coach trip the boys gainfully jogged (read wandered) onto the pitch, ready(ish) to take on Marlborough.
Truest outgunned in the first half, Marlborough took hold of the match and ran in try after try. This said, the Gentlemen put in stout effort defending their half but soon the score slipped to 21-5, seeing man of the match Ludi Davies smashing his way through the opposition to score our first try.
The half time whistle came not a moment too soon which gave Marlborough’s 5th XV an opportunity to pitch their skill against us.
The Gentlemen misjudged their opposition assuming they would smash their lesser opposition, but sadly this wasn’t the case. Despite using our secret battering ram Alex Rivers, the Marlborough defence remained solid, and their possession of the ball grew as the game wore on soon seeing two tries to them. Rupert Birkett-Eyles fought back with a fantastic try in the dying minutes of the match, but sadly it was too little too late, seeing the second half score sat at 10-5.
Another valiant effort by the mighty tweed army, the highlight of the afternoon was their rendition of The Carmen on the coach home, the lowlight; captain Seb Baldwin snapping my umbrella and rendering it useless before a Wiltshire deluge
